Who We Are
We are a second generation, Vancouver based company, specializing in the construction and renovation of single-family homes. With over 38 years of experience and more than 250 completed projects we have become one of Vancouver’s more reputable general contracting companies for quality built single family homes and renovations.
Throughout the years, we have had the opportunity to build both tradition and modern style homes, designed by some of Vancouver’s most prestigious Architects and Designers. These homes have ranged from small boutique laneway houses to 16,000 sqft Shaughnessy mansions (Vancouver’s most prestigious real estate area). As a company dedicated to pushing architectural limits, Bela has been commissioned to build & renovate homes in Vancouver with reinforced architectural concrete, residential elevators, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, ponds, water features and suspended slab construction.

Early yearS
Bela Construction was established in 1985 and aggressively grew to become one of Vancouver’s highest volume, single-family speculation home building companies of its time.
In the 1990’s the company pivoted and began focusing more on quality and customer service, rather than volume.
With a large focus on forging and maintaining long lasting relationships with its clients, Bela Construction has gained a reputation today, as one of Vancouver’s more reputable general contracting companies.
Over the years, we have been given the opportunity to built/renovated multiple projects for the same Owner(s) and have been referred by many of our Owners to their friends and families for all their home building and renovation needs.
OUR FUTURE
Bela is managed by Nick Cheng, who joined the company in 2007.
Nick’s first year in the industry was dedicated to managing small renovations, duplexes and working on site with the sub-trades (this gave Nick an appreciation for the amount of effort each sub-trade put into their craft).
Following his early years, Nick was quickly given the opportunity to work on a number of high budget homes with design teams comprised of Vancouver’s more famous and well known Architects and Designers. These projects ranged from modest 4500 sq/ft homes to 11,000 sq/ft mansions, some of which have won awards from Vancouver’s prestigious Georgie Awards.
Many of the projects Nick has worked on throughout the years have incorporated indoor swimming pools, faux finish painting, custom imported millwork, hand painted murals and a variety of other specialty features, not regularly seen in many typical Vancouver homes.
His knowledge and experience gained from working with unique and high-end materials/finishes, alongside experienced design teams allows Nick to offer invaluable insight for all construction and renovation projects.
